Graduate Brianna Mauro Named to Flag Football All-State Team

Elwood-John H. Glenn High School Class of 2026 graduate Brianna Mauro was recently selected by the New York State Sportswriters Association to the flag football All-State team, on 1st Team Defense. Mauro helped lead the Knights to two playoff appearances and a county championship in the school’s first two seasons as a program.

In addition to her All-State recognition, Mauro earned All-County and All-Academic honors, was named the Suffolk County Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player, received the prestigious Golden Seven Award and was recognized as a Newsday Top 50 player. Her remarkable accomplishments reflect an exceptional career defined by excellence, leadership and dedication both on and off the field.

“Brianna has been the cornerstone of the team,” coach Craig Ash said. “She has set the standard for what it truly means to be a John Glenn flag football player.”
