"Pantry to Table" Cookbook Helps Families, Earns Senior the Girl Scout Gold Award

In a thoughtful act of service, Elwood-John H. Glenn High School senior Riley Perinchief recently earned her Girl Scout Gold Award through an impressive project supporting Elwood Middle School’s food pantry program. For her initiative, she created a “Pantry to Table” cookbook filled with recipes that use ingredients commonly included in the pantry’s monthly food boxes, helping families “spice up” and add variety to their mealtimes. To further assist the community, Perinchief also produced a full Spanish-language version of the cookbook and organized a food drive to collect many of the items featured in the recipes.
